Native Son

Born in Houston at Hermann Hospital (Vince says his rule is to always live within walking distance to Hermann) Vince was raised by loving parents who instilled within him and his three siblings a sense of service to others.

He attended Kemah Elementary and Clear Creek High School, and his sister still lives in the family home.
His father operated the Garth Preserves canning factory in League City.  After his father encountered financial difficulties following Vince’s first year of college, Vince worked his way through college, law school and later graduate school. He attended University of Houston received a BA and Law Degree and Rice University for a Master of Arts in History.

He has lived in the same neighborhood in Houston since July 1981.
